Introducing EGX Attendees to PICO

While working with client PICO, ByteDance's VR sub-brand, I was invited to help bring the PICO VR experience to TikTok's booth at EGX 2023 - a huge annual gaming convention in London. Attendees had the opportunity to test an unreleased rhythm game on the system, with high scores marked on a leaderboard. At the end of each day, the attendee with the highest score took home a PICO 4 system.


Priorities & Goals

  • Capture footage of the PICO booth at EGX and other establishing shots of the venue

  • Work alongside the PICO team to demo the PICO 4 VR headset to EGX attendees

  • Produce short-form video content for PICO socials with fast turnarounds

  • Work closely with the editor to rapidly produce and publish EGX-related content on-site

  • Meet with PICO and VR KOLs

  • Interview attendees and KOLs about their experience

Execution

My team and I brought all the necessary equipment to the event (including laptops, phones, tripods and paperwork) and produced multiple pieces of always-on content for PICO, including a piece where attendees and KOLs review their experience with the unreleased game and the VR headset.


While EGX attendees stood in the queue to try the PICO 4, I introduced them to the PICO 4 headset and explained its features, appeal and advantages.
